Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

If you are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, then please feel free to contact Father Edmund who would be very happy to discuss this further with you.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith. The process of entry into the Church is marked by various ceremonies in the Rite, which take place at celebrations within the community during the year leading up to Reception into the Church at the Easter Vigil and a Thanksgiving Mass at Northampton Cathedral. Classes will begin at the end of January.

Of course, becoming a full member of the Catholic Church is not the end of anything, but the beginning. With continual help and support form Godparents/sponsors and indeed from the whole community, the new members will be encouraged to take a full part in the life of the Church. It will now be their turn to go out and tell others about our faith, and encourage others, by word and example, to become enquirers.
