Baptism

When a child is born, something wonderful has taken place; a human being made in the image and likeness of God has been brought into the world. That is a cause for great celebration and the Church, the family of God at Our Lady’s in Wellingborough, wants to celebrate with you.

Therefore if you are interested in having your child baptized you should arrange an appointment to see Father Edmund at the Presbytery. We will book your place in the next Preparation Session which is normally held on the last Thursday of each month at 7pm at St Edmunds Church. You will meet other parents and listen to a short talk on the spiritual and practical aspects of Baptism. You will be given some literature and information about our local Catholic schools. Godparents are encouraged to attend.

Ideally, Baptism should take place within a Parish Mass because your child is being welcomed into the parish community. However, if you feel this would be inappropriate, we celebrate Baptisms:

- on Saturdays at Our Lady’s Church at 4pm or

- on Sundays at St Edmunds Church at 12noon.
