50 YEARS OF CAFOD FUNDRAISING. If you would like to contribute to our latest fundraising for CAFOD please take one of the plant pots at the back of the church for this purpose. Our Lady’s Catholic Infant and Junior Schools

We are very lucky to have dedicated staff in our schools who work tirelessly for the interest of our children and provide them with a solid foundation for their future lives. The name of Our Lady ’ s is of special significance to both schools, reminding us of the love and response of Mary, chosen by God to be a very special parent, the mother of Jesus. Our mission as parents, teachers and parishioners is to bring up our children in a Christian community, which will inspire their formation as future adults in society.

Children are happy and work hard together. Visitors to the school always comments on the outstanding art work. The school also has a proactive support group, the Active Friends, who have provided hospitality on Open Evenings, run regular events such as the Christmas Disco and raise much needed funds. The school has within its building an independently run Catholic Pre School, an After School Club and a Breakfast Club and Holiday Club which especially help working parents.

Both schools work very well together and enjoy strong links with the parish The preparation for the two key sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation has brought the individual family, school and parish closer together. They are always delighted to welcome the many parishioners who choose to join them and help celebrate Year and School Masses.

The last Ofsted report on the school was very positive and productive. The Inspectors said;

‘ Pupils in all year groups are delightful young people. They are friendly, courteous and polite, and form positive relationships. They respect adults but are also confident in communicating with them. Pupils value their friendships and enjoy working together. Behaviour is outstanding. All these strengths exemplify pupils ’ good spiritual, moral, social and cultural development ’ .
